Wallpaper Installation on the Maryland & Delaware coast

Painter Tony hangs wallpaper and grasscloth with tight seams and perfectly matched patterns, bringing texture and personality to powder rooms, baths and feature walls across the Delmarva coast.

Wall prep decides how wallpaper looks

Wallpaper sits directly on the wall, so bumps, patches and uneven surfaces show through. Walls are repaired, smoothed and primed with the right primer before the first sheet goes up.

Good prep also makes the paper easier to remove someday, which future you will appreciate.

Seams you cannot find and patterns that line up

The difference between a professional job and a DIY one is in the seams and the pattern match. Every drop is aligned so the design flows across the wall, around corners and over doorways without a visible break.

Paper and paint, finished together

Because Tony is a painter first, wallpaper projects can include the trim, doors, ceiling and wainscoting in the same room. The powder room and bath in the gallery pair a botanical paper with painted blue wainscoting for a finished, coordinated look.

FAQ

Wallpaper Installation questions

Do you supply the wallpaper or do I?

Most homeowners choose and purchase their own paper, since it is such a personal design choice. Tony can tell you how many rolls to order based on your room and the pattern repeat, so you do not run short in the middle of the job.

Can you hang grasscloth?

Yes. Grasscloth and other natural, textured wallcoverings need careful handling because they can stain and show seams more than printed paper. The sunroom in the gallery is a grasscloth installation.

Is wallpaper a good idea in a humid beach house bathroom?

It can be, with the right paper, good ventilation and proper wall prep and primer underneath. Bathrooms near the coast see a lot of humidity, so Tony will talk with you about the paper you have in mind and how the room is ventilated before recommending it.

Can you paint the rest of the room at the same time?

Yes, and it is usually the best way to do it. Trim, doors, ceilings and wainscoting can be painted as part of the same project so the colors and finishes work together.
