Cabinet Painting & Refinishing on the Maryland & Delaware coast

Painter Tony gives kitchens and built-ins across the Eastern Shore a smooth, factory-like finish that stands up to everyday use, for a fraction of the cost and mess of replacing cabinets.

A smooth finish that looks factory-made

Cabinets are sprayed, not rolled, so the finish lays down smooth and even without brush marks or roller texture. That is the difference between cabinets that look painted and cabinets that look new.

Your kitchen is fully masked and wrapped before spraying begins, so overspray never reaches counters, appliances or floors.

Durability starts with adhesion

Kitchen cabinets get grabbed, bumped and wiped every day. The coatings Tony uses are made for that kind of wear, but they only perform if they stick.

Every door and frame is cleaned and degreased, scuff-sanded and primed with a bonding primer first. That prep is what keeps the finish from chipping at the handles a year later.

Built-ins and furniture-grade pieces

The same process works on built-in shelving, mudroom lockers, vanities and entertainment walls. Deep navy, sage green and crisp white built-ins in the gallery were all finished this way.

For the highest-end look, Fine Paints of Europe enamels can produce a deep, glassy finish on cabinet doors and built-ins.

FAQ

Cabinet Painting & Refinishing questions

Is painting cabinets worth it instead of replacing them?

If your cabinet boxes are solid and the layout works for you, painting usually gives you a dramatic new look for far less money and disruption than a tear-out. Your counters, plumbing and appliances stay where they are. If the boxes are damaged or you want a new layout, replacement may make more sense, and Tony will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.

Will painted cabinets chip?

Chipping almost always comes from skipped prep. Every surface is degreased, scuff-sanded and primed with a bonding primer before the finish coats, and the coatings used are made for the wear and tear of daily kitchen use. That combination is what gives you a finish that lasts.

Do you brush or spray cabinets?

Cabinets are sprayed for a smooth, even, brush-mark-free finish. The kitchen is completely masked first, with counters, appliances, walls and floors wrapped in plastic and paper, so the only thing that gets paint is the cabinets.

Can I use my kitchen while the cabinets are being done?

There will be a stretch where the kitchen is masked off for spraying, so plan on limited use during that window. Tony will walk you through the schedule at the estimate so you know which days the kitchen is unavailable and when it is back in service.

Can you paint built-ins and bathroom vanities too?

Yes. Built-in bookcases, entertainment walls, mudroom lockers, pantry cabinets and vanities all follow the same process. The gallery includes navy, sage and white built-ins finished this way.
