High-Gloss & Fine Finishes on the Maryland & Delaware coast

As a Fine Paints of Europe certified painter, Tony brings mirror-like high-gloss doors, trim and built-ins to homes across the Delmarva coast. It is the finish people stop and touch.

What Fine Paints of Europe certification means for your home

Fine Paints of Europe makes premium paints in Holland, including enamels known for a deep, glass-like gloss. Those products reward skill. Applied by someone who has not been trained on them, they can sag, brush-mark or take forever to cure properly.

Tony completed the company’s certification program in 2025 and is listed in their directory of certified professional painters. You get the finish the paint was designed to produce.

Gloss shows everything, so preparation is meticulous

A high-gloss finish reflects light like a mirror, which means any dent, ridge or speck underneath is magnified. Surfaces are filled, sanded and primed in stages until they are flat and clean before the first finish coat.

It is slower, careful work, and it is the reason the results look so different.

Where a fine finish makes the biggest impact

Front doors, stair railings, built-in cabinetry, paneled libraries and trim are the classic places for high gloss. Glossy white ceilings and shiplap can also bounce light deep into a room, which is part of what makes the curved ceiling in the gallery glow.

If you are not sure where to use it, Tony can help you pick one or two surfaces that will carry the room.

FAQ

High-Gloss & Fine Finishes questions

What is Fine Paints of Europe?

Fine Paints of Europe is a premium paint company whose coatings are made in Holland. Their enamels are known for an exceptionally smooth, deep, glossy finish and their wall paints like Eurolux for being scrubbable and low odor. Tony is a certified professional painter for the brand, trained in how to apply their products correctly.

Why does a certified painter matter for high-gloss work?

High-gloss enamels behave differently from everyday paint. Application, film thickness, drying time and recoat timing all affect whether you end up with a mirror finish or visible brush marks and sags. Certification means Tony was trained directly on these products, so you get the result you are paying premium paint prices for.

Can you do a high-gloss front door?

Yes, it is one of the most popular fine-finish projects. The door is repaired, sanded and primed until it is flat and smooth, then finished in your color with a high-gloss enamel. There is a before and after of a red front door on this page.

Is high gloss practical for a beach house?

In the right places, yes. Glossy enamels are hard and wipeable, which suits doors, trim, railings and built-ins that get touched constantly. Gloss does show imperfections in the surface underneath, which is why so much of the job is preparation.

Do you only use Fine Paints of Europe?

No. Fine Paints of Europe is the go-to for statement finishes, but Tony works with a range of premium paints and recommends the right product for each surface and budget.
